The Excimer laser emits a high-intensity beam of ultraviolet light very similar to the light delivered by narrow-band UVB units. This laser is used mostly to treat people with mild to moderate plaque psoriasis and vitiligo. It can target selected areas of the skin affected by these conditions. Excimer laser treatment is performed twice weekly and is used in conjunction with topical medications prescribed by your physician.
