Introducing a new treatment for Psoriasis!

The physicians at Portland Dermatology Clinic, LLP are pleased to announce the addition of a new laser, the Excimer Laser, used to treat Psoriasis and other skin conditions. This machine replaces the former treatment method for cases of severe psoriasis, Grenz Ray Therapy.

Psoriasis is a chronic condition and currently, there is no cure. More than 4.5 million adults in the United States have been diagnosed with psoriasis and approximately 150,000 new cases are diagnosed each year. An estimated 20% of these cases have moderate to severe psoriasis.

The Excimer laser offers many advantages over topical creams and more conventional therapies. These include:

• Effectively, safely, and conveniently provides fast clearing and long remission of psoriasis, vitiligo and other skin conditions.
  
  
• Targets only the involved skin with a high-dose laser, and may be safer than many conventional treatments with fewer side effects.

Welcome to Portland Dermatology Clinic, LLP, offices of Drs. Adler, Bremner, Jetmalani, Larsen and Resnick. The Portland Dermatology Clinic LLP is a full service facility for the medical and surgical management of diseases and cancer of the skin. Located in Northwest Portland since 1960, our physicians are all board certified by the American Board of Dermatology. Our staff of 21 includes highly skilled and trained clinical and administrative personnel. Among the services offered are phototherapy, patch testing for contact allergies, pulsed dye laser, radiation therapy known as Grenz ray, cutaneous surgery, Skin Care management and some Cosmetic procedures such as Botox Cosmetic, sclerotherapy, and certain dermal fillers (such as Juvederm).

During your initial visit, you are strongly encouraged to have a complete body exam in order to identify any suspicious moles or skin cancers that you haven't noticed. Skin cancer affects millions, and it is the mission of Portland Dermatology Clinic to promote awareness and patient education, hopefully leading to early detection and more effective treatment.

As a patient of the clinic, you may take advantage of a complimentary skincare evaluation or laser consultation. Our skincare medical assistant will recommend services and products best suited to your skin. Our laser technician will explain how laser treatment may benefit conditions such as facial veins, angiomas and rosacea. We carry several premium skincare and sun protection product lines available only through physicians' offices.

The physicians at Portland Dermatology Clinic accept most insurance plans and our physicians are Medicare participating providers. To ensure you are prepared for your visit, please contact your carrier if you have questions about your benefits and coverage. If referrals are required by your plan, please ensure there is a surgical option included with the referral to allow for the possibility of same day treatment if applicable. Please note that your physician here at Portland Dermatology Clinic may recommend a treatment, procedure or surgery your carrier may “allow” as a covered service, but also may pass the charge for that service through to your deductible. Check the specifics of your plan to avoid being surprised by an unanticipated charge that is your responsibility.

Patients are also seen on a private pay or cash basis. You can inform the patient relations specialist of your preference for billing when you schedule your appointment.

Please arrive for your appointment 15 minutes early to complete the necessary paperwork (see the last page of the informative packet for driving directions). If you are unable to make your appointment at the scheduled time, contact the office at least 24 hours beforehand. Please note, we have a strict no show policy and only 3 no shows are allowed to avoid possible termination of care.
